Community Events

Mental Health Matters hosts community events that raise public awareness about mental health and help to break the social stigma about mental health and illness. These events will apply an arts based approach and involve other community partners. Language interpreters and childcare (for on-site events) are provided. Scroll down below for upcoming activities.

Suicide Prevention Workshop (on Zoom)
Join us on Weds, Sept. 21st from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm as we talk about what can be a topic that’s difficult to discuss: suicide. Chances are, we all know someone whose life has been impacted by a suicide. In this virtual Zoom session, experts from the Forefront Center for Suicide Prevention (at UW) will lead a workshop on suicide and how to help someone who may be showing warning signs. This event will have live Spanish translation. Registration is required. QR code on flyer links you to a registration form.
