Mental Health Navigators (MHN) can help others navigate  a mental health system and health information that can often be overwhelming. As a Peer Mental Health Navigator, you will help others identify the resources they need to move forward in their personal wellness.

You can help people by phone, in person, or online. You can also learn about resources that support YOUR mental health and well-being and be a part of a supportive community of others working toward similar goals.  After completing this training, you can stay involved as a Peer Mental Health Navigator by attending or helping to organize events with MHM and partners, and continue to spark dialogue with others in the community, referring them to resources and care.

A Peer Mental Health Navigator can help people:

  • Find relevant community programs and services
  • Navigate mental health systems
  • Assist with social connection and support
  • Access and develop community resources
  • Strengthen coping strategies
  • Assist people with goal setting
